Palo Alto Networks: Mismatched AI Cybersecurity Excitement

Image
Update - Sept. 2, 2026 Palo Alto Networks with the solid beat as expected. The stock just has nowhere to go at this valuation, leading to the 9% dip following earnings. The cybersecurity company forecast a FY27 EPS of only $4.175 for only around 9% growth while the stock still trades at 78.5x EPS targets. The numbers just don't support the big rally.  -FQ4 Non-GAAP EPS of $1.02 beats by $0.04. -Revenue of $3.41B (+34.3% Y/Y) beats by $60M. These FY27 guidance numbers appear very low. -Next-Generation Security ARR of $11.075 billion to $11.175 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 22% to 23%. -Remaining performance obligations of $25.2 billion to $25.4 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 19% to 20%.   Original article posted on Aug. 29 Palo Alto Networks trades near all-time highs, with the stock valuation far outpacing business fundamentals and organic growth trends. PANW's organic growth slowed to ~14% in the last quarter, while EPS growth is muted due to ...

USA Rare Earth: Progress Over Perfection

USA Rare Earth is rapidly scaling a vertically integrated rare earths business, yet the market remains skeptical of its long-term profitability. The recent quarterly results weren't impressive, but the numbers aren't relevant; focus on operational milestones, customer pipeline, and magnet production ramp at Stillwater and future expansions. USAR's valuation appears compelling, targeting $1.85B adjusted EBITDA by 2030 and ~80% free cash flow conversion, with debt expected to be generally covered by 2030. The stock is cheap at about 3.5x adjusted EBITDA targets with dips down to the $15 range—great buying opportunities. USA Rare Earth, Inc. ( USAR ) is quickly building a rare earth powerhouse, but the stock market still isn't convinced of a profitable future. The company is early in the development process, leading to some confusion over financial  results. My  investment thesis  remains ultra bullish on the stock, especially back at the recent lows when the stock ma...

Joby Aviation: Held Back By Untimely Capital Raises

Image
Joby Aviation is deeply undervalued at $7, despite strong progress toward eVTOL certification and air taxi launch. The potential $750M ATM capital raise, linked to the $500M Resonant Sciences acquisition, pressures the stock but adds a $100M+ revenue defense unit. JOBY is on track for a $2B revenue target by 2030, with near-term catalysts including eIPP services in Dallas-Fort Worth and Dubai. Certification delays and ongoing capital raises remain key risks, but current weakness offers a compelling buying opportunity. Joby Aviation, Inc.  ( JOBY ) appears to have a bright future, but the company can't stop making untimely capital raises. The stock trades at multi-year lows despite the progress towards eVTOL certification and air taxi  launch. My  investment thesis  remains ultra Bullish on the stock trading around $7, but Joby Aviation is unlikely to rally as long as the company constantly raises capital regardless of the stock price. Firefly Aerospace: Riding The Space Race Higher

Image
Firefly Aerospace Inc. trading at a discount to peers amid strong quarterly results and robust backlog growth. The Q2 backlog surged to a record $1.5 billion, supported by moon landing missions and Lockheed Martin launches, supporting a strong long-term growth trajectory. FLY's revenue guidance for 2026 remains $420–$450 million, with order timing causing quarterly volatility. The stock only trades at 4x 2028 sales targets, while rocket launch companies trade at multiples of this price. Firefly Aerospace Inc. ( FLY ) was an amazing gift on the dip back to support around $20. The space infrastructure company continues to pull large orders as Firefly expands manufacturing capabilities to ride the space race. My  investment thesis  remains ultra Bullish on FLY stock, which is trading at a discount to other rocket launch and space companies. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha. Moderna: Focus On Cancer Vaccines, Not Buyout

Image
Update - Aug. 19, 2026 MODERNA, MERCK  MRNA  CANCER VACCINE SUCCEEDS IN PHASE 3, stock up nearly 150% to $153 mid-day trading. The stock is now up nearly 500% from where our research highlighted the potential benefits of a cancer vaccine.  - MRNA  and  MRK  say their personalized mRNA cancer vaccine, intismeran, combined with Keytruda slowed melanoma recurrence and spread in a late-stage trial. -The study was stopped at its first interim analysis after positive results, though detailed efficacy data have not yet been released.   Looking for a portfolio of ideas like this one? Aurora Innovation: Scaling Too Slow

Aurora Innovation faces intensifying competition amid slow scaling, with only 200 autonomous trucks targeted by end-2026. AUR's transition from TaaS to DaaS will boost margins but reduce per-truck revenue in 2027. The $14B market cap appears stretched given projected revenue ramp, ongoing dilution, and high cash burn through at least 2028. I remain neutral, seeing the stock range-bound ($4–$8) due to premium valuation, execution risks, and lack of compelling upside catalysts. In the blink of an eye, Aurora Innovation, Inc. ( AUR ) is already inundated with competition. The proclaimed autonomous trucking leader has been slow to launch services and the sector is quickly catching up. My  investment thesis  remains Neutral on the stock, though $6 could provide support for a bounce. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha.  Disclosure: No position mentioned.
